Apparently, the European Court of Justice just ruled that
every cookie a website wants to set needs explicit consent from the user, whether any personal data is collected or not. I really wish that the people who are responsible for writing and interpreting laws concerning technology would at least try to understand said technology. I'm waiting for the cookie question next time I change the language on DuckDuckGo, or the color scheme on arstechnica...
