We had a major victory today. It's amazing. We went to the grocery store, and we managed to bring toilet paper home. I can't believe it. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done. We were surrounded by greediness. I told my boyfriend to guard the cart with his life. "Don't let that out of your sight!" We were alone, with no allies to count on. Everyone was a potential threat. But we did it - we made it to the cash register in one piece, and, more importantly, with the toilet paper package still in one piece. But we weren't safe yet. We snuck into a corner to pack everything away - damn, no bag big enough to hide our precious treasure. No choice but to carry it in the open - through the whole village. My God, look, enemies everywhere. "Did you see that guy? He looked at us funny." Cars slowed down around us, nearly causing accidents. "There, did you notice the calculating look on that old lady's face?" Oh, good, it's starting to snow, that will hide us. There, finally, the goal is in sight. Yes, home free!
